Dannemarie - 21st July to 23rd July 23

Stayed at Port de Plaisance Wolfersdorf, 12 euros for a night, Electricity is 2 euros a day, water free. Showers are 2 euros needs a token and there is a washing machine and dryer, you will need to purchase tokens for them as well. The dryer time is one token lasts for 1 hour.

Had dinner in town with Dick from Colarado. He's also heading to St Jean de Losne. We've been playijnb tag since Mulhouse.

Not many kms but a lot of locks

The PK number is a km marker while the Ecl is the lock number with the number in brackets being how much we're going to go up or down. The arrow sort of shape of the lock points to the higher side so for this series we're going up still. After Ecl 2 we have a flat run for about 5 kms and then we start going down but that'll be another day.

Update: Took us three and a half hours to do the 10km. All electric, batteries were full at the start, by the time we finished the last lock at Ecl 2 the batteries were still at 92%. Then we started the 5 km of straight run and got here to Montreux-Château (not shown on the map) with 66%.

Ecluse number 17 de Wolfersdorf - 21st July 23

Our last lock of the day and the longest. One of the gates didn't close. 12:20 we entered the lock 1:15 we left.

The way out, on the left you can see Felix and the team trying to get it to work again and outside the lock to the right you can just see the Marina we are heading to.

Had time for lunch, Felix in the back pushing the gate closed.

Ecluse number 28 d'Heidwiller - 20th July to 21st July

This series of locks you need to book before 3pm for the next day, you are given a time to be at the Ecluse, our time was 9:00am at Ecluse number 39 and you have 2 VNF guys to take you thru the locks. 11 ecluse later we stopped on the side of Canal du Rhone au Rhin near Ecluse number 28 at 12:30pm, just in time because the guys told us they were going to stop for lunch. No water or electricity. Closest town is Heidwiller 15-minute walk so doable.

Mulhouse - 13th July to 20th July 2023

Stop for Lunch at Bief De Niffer

Lunch on the way to our 4:00pm lock opening, at the side Bief De Niffer.

Sat at the picnic table with a French couple who were riding about 70 kms a day kn their holiday.

About the Marina: 75 Euros for a week, electricity cost 15 Euros for the week, water included.

One shower, cost 1 euro, not sure what it's like, we used the shower on the boat.

Has a washing machine and dryer 5 euro per load.

It's a good idea to go to the information center and purchase a "Mulhouse City Pass" valid for 3 day , gives you free public transport, first museum you can get free entre, I would suggest the Car Museum as the free entry, it the most expensive at 18 euros per person, allow time, the museum is huge, has a bar, cafe and restaurant.
