The Grand-Place, is the central square of Brussels,
Belgium, and the main square of the city. It is the place where citizens have
gathered for large events and markets for centuries. It is also the location of
the city government.
The area of 7,480 square meters is surrounded by the Baroque
guild houses, the Gothic town hall and the neo-Gothic King's House. The square,
initially built in the 11th century, is completely paved. The construction was
not completed until the 17th century and has been the subject of many
reconstructions following wars and conflicts over the centuries.
Today, the Grand-Place is an important landmark in Brussels.
It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998. The square is often home
to festivals and other cultural events. |

The main reason we went to Brussel was to pickup a Gas Spring, so there was another train ride and a kilometer walk to LDA.
