Port has electricity - 5 Euros for 8 hours and water at 2.50 Euros for 15 minutes.

Huge water pressure. So much so that we had a blow out on the hose.

No Supermarket or Boulangerie in town.

The council have added a platform on the top of the electricity poles for storks to nest in.

See this a lot in the small villages.

You don't want one nesting on your roof, what a mess.

Hochffelden - 17th June to 19th June 2023

No marina, parked at the side of the Canal a little bit up from the Port de Hochfelden. Port de Hochfelden didn't look very inviting and didn't have electricity or water either so no need to stop there.

Nice walk into town, at least 3 boulangeries, 3 supermarkets and variety of restaurants and Brasserie Meteor with tours around the factory, beer tasting and a restaurant. we were there on a Sunday, Google said it was closed but when we walked past in was opened, could have been because it was Fathers Day.

Steinbourg - 16th June to 17th June 2023

Marina - 12 euros a night including electricity, you need to turn off your inverter before you turn the electricity on, will only work with the inverter off and 1 euro for 20 minutes of water.

Small supermarket, boulangerie, restaurant and chemist all walking distance from port. 

So what the sign doesn't say is that if you don't turn off your inverter, it will cause the app to crash and the whole thing doesn't apply any electricity to anybody until it reboots.

Saverne - 14th June to 16th June 2023

 Marina - 20 euros a night with electricity and water included. Short walk to 2 large supermarkets and the center of town.

I ended up going to the hardware store and paying about EUR35 for some tools and 4mm brass rod and making my own shear pin for the bow thruster.

Works well and we back on the road again.

Lutzelbourg - 12th June to 14th June 2023

We stayed at the Locaboat marina as we were hoping they could fix the Bow Thruster.

Cost 20 Euros per night includes Electricity and Water. No Showers. Not far to walk into town and the Boulangerie. 

There are 2 Ports where you can stop in the center of town for free.

We stayed at the locaboat base hoping they could look at it but it didn't happen.

Niderviller - 10th June to 12th June 2023

About the Marina:

• Cost for the berth about 1,80 euros per meter
• Electricity is 5 Euros per day.
• 1 Euro per 100 liters of water (note: there is no meter to say how much you have used)
• Showers - you pay 10 Euros for a card and add credit to the card. Shower cost 30 cents per 1 minute. What you don't use and the 10 Euros for the card you will get back when you return the card.
• Visitors parking is on the outside arm.

Ecluse no.7 Rechicourt-le-Chateau - 8th June to 9th June

Finally found same Stakes (Piquets) at the last stop at Lagarde Port, one of the ports where they hire boats out, purchased 3 second hand ones for 8 Euros each and purchased two large round fenders to protect the bow in the locks. With the stakes we can now stop at the side of the canals., which we did today.

Had a little visitor fly into our boat.

The reason we needed the large round fenders, We were up the front in Ecluse No 14 de Xures when a charter boat followed us in and needed more space. We changed our line to move forwards to make room which meant our lines where not in the best position, we had one bollard for the 2 lines. Learnt a lesson though, if I'm as far forward as I feel safe, I'm not moving for a charter, they can reverse out and get the next lock.
